What categories does the Programme cover?
There are seven categories, covering different stages of education:
- School — students in Class 9 to 12.
- Undergraduate — students in an undergraduate programme at a qualifying institution.
- Postgraduate (Master's) — students in a Master's programme.
- Medical (MBBS) — MBBS students.
- IIT — undergraduate students at the IITs.
- IIM — students in an MBA at the IIMs.
- Overseas — students pursuing a Master's degree or above abroad.
How much is the scholarship for each category?
The amount is fixed per category and is paid per student, per year:
Class 9th to 12th: ₹15,000
Undergraduate programme: ₹75,000
Medical (MBBS): ₹2,00,000
Master's programme: ₹1,50,000
Undergraduate from IITs: ₹2,00,000
PGDM/MBA from IIMs: ₹5,00,000
Master's and above from abroad: ₹15,00,000
These amounts are for one academic year. For multi-year courses, the scholarship can be renewed each year for the remaining duration of the course, subject to continued eligibility. For the higher-education categories, you may also be asked for your total course fee and other educational expenses as part of the application.
